Memories:

I found through my kids that cooking is a great way of fun and a powerful tool. Through cooking and being in the kitchen, kids will gain confidence, develop language skills and most of all it is an excellent way to improve their imagination It was Daddy’s birthday. Denny wanted to cook a “special snack” for Daddy’s birthday. We had planned on having Dinner with Daddy. The cooking started, he got a pan and spoon pretending to cook on the stove. He picked all the ingredients himself. He asked for lot of ingredients which was in his mind but when I suggested him what should be done, he followed the directions. Once he had finished his cooking (!), He asked me to call Daddy to come home early, and in the call he said “I just know Daddy, you will love it.” Thinking he’d forget all about it by the time, Daddy reached home.

With great happiness on his face, he said,” Daddy, Look what I made you”....these are the presents(Denny’s language) ! Though it shaped liked a Crescent, It sure was a great birthday present for Daddy. Daddy took a big bite and Denny loved that Daddy liked it. It was a loooooooooooooooooooooooong snack time though. Kids can be so much fun. They will make mistakes and a mess when cooking in the kitchen, especially the first few times. Allow them to do their best – the cooking experience must be positive, fun and relaxed. Help them clean up. Turn everything they do into a learning experience.

Memories :

It was almost mid-summer, the heat in our area is part of the life to live. What can be the best way to entertain ourselves...no V-Games, no Wii,no Parks, mmm movie. Yes, but we were not allowed to watch any movies at home, watching in a rental VCR(oldtime gadget may be)... a Big No :)!!! There was slight and big problem getting in the way of enjoying the special days. My brothers wanted a solution to meet the concern...why not watch it in our uncle(Mama)’ s home. It was not a big palace, yet there was lot of love and affection we experienced in our lives there.

Uncle, being a fan of 60’s, he was so crazy to watch all the “Vathiar” movies. Though he suggests few recently released movies, my brothers were desperately wanted to watch “FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE" !!!  It had a Great Soundtrack , and  just outstanding even if we hear today. What could have happend? Uncle, who was so much love in us, gave the green signal...(Yayyyy!!!),everyone started to watch the movie. About half-hour into the movie, our stomach were growling, since our Aunt was also soaked in the thrilling moments of the movie, then the dinner time was just passing away..!! At last, She made yummy Arisi paruppu sadam( will post that soon)with this ROASTED POTATOES. We had our dinner at late night, whatever the time may be...but how it was served is always overwhelming to us. Though, we all love this dish , it is hard to forget these memories.

Being Thankful!

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thess 5:18

Devotion :

Are we valuing that everything, we are receiving? What are the some simple things we are taking for granted? We dont thank or acknowledge the little pleasures in life.

Being Thankful. It is not the circumstances we are thankful for, it is that we have to be thankful; while we are facing the circumstances. We don’t have to be all alike, have the same ideas or have the same interpretations; Yet, we are all thankful for He is protecting us and guiding us throughout our daily life. This thankful heart comes with being satisfied with what we have. Well, are you thankful? If you want to find yourself being renewed, Try being thankful to God.

His Mercy!

The LORD upholds all those who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down. Psalm 145 : 14 NIV

Devotion

Aren’t we glad for God’s Love? Are we sure to deserve all of his blessings? The beauty is that He forgives as we confess. Unworthy of that? Yes, The Lord loves to reverse the things. Even when we stray from Him he reaches out his hands with compassion and restores us, lifts us up and cares for our needs.

All of us fail at times to live by God’s standards. Just double check our lives, even if we stand at the middle of the battle, our first priority must be strengthening our level of intimacy with God, For He is slow to be angry, gracious and full of compassion.

Bunch of Mushroom!

I saw this kind of mushroom bunch near the small rocks which gives a fascinating look in the lawn in front of our apartments, it is really nice to take and have a closer look but I didn’t do it. It was so fresh after the cold rainy days. If it is saying something....let me see!!!

Lighten Up!!!

A joyful heart is good medicine, but depression drains one's strength. Prov 17:22

Devotion :

Smile. How can you smile when you feel like you can’t smile? If the circumstances are not what they should be, or what we like them to be what will be our first reaction?! It is not realistic, but what if a SMILE changes our emotional state.

Yes, A joyful heart is a heart with a smile, a heart that loves to laugh and make everyone happy. We all know that a medicine soothes our pain likewise a merry heart reduces the pain of hurt feelings, failed expectations and misunderstandings perhaps it makes us feel better whatever the situation with which we are confronted. Do you agree to buy this powerful drug, yet at free of cost...Smile. Lighten up some life.

Lead us!!!

If the LORD is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us. Numbers 14 : 8

Devotion :

How do we react at failure times? In the daily grind of life we look answers for an unexpected illness in the family, a failure in the grade, medical diagnosis of a loved one, unemployment, heart breaking world news or our financial situation. When we still know God has an ultimate plan in our lives, Are we pleasing Him?, Why are we ...questioning God and his promises on these realities.

Let God walk through “those” times. If we allow, we will experience the life in a better way. When obstacles encounters, Trusting God, wait patiently on His promises, know that he cares for us... always. When we obey Him, we learn His ways.

Did You Hear ?!

He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. Matt 11:15

Devotion:

It is very difficult to find someone to just listen and try to solve our own life issues. But when we feel the sense that some one is really listening to what we say; How do we feel?! We feel so great ; we feel so connected. The fact is that we wanted to be recognized. So, If we become good listeners to others as well as to God we'll be amazed by the outcome.

As Bruce Van Fleet tells us, "We have two ears and one mouth for a reason"; When we listen, Really Listen. Have you ever listened to people around you?

Wise Walk!

Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men, but as wise, making the most of your time. Eph 5: 15-16.

Devotion :

Walking in light! How does it feel? There's probably some kind of commentary spinning through your mind, and it has to do something other than what you are doing!!! Many times we think we are good at walking in light because we discipline ourselves for that very purpose!! Smile :), We are on the God's camera !

What matters most now? !!! As we are the dot on the God's timeline, practice a life of thoughtfulness and walk carefully before others.

Puppy

The year 2008 has brought many changes, all very good and few losses of loved ones to the life. Hubby was given an opportunity to move to United States of America. I kept going through lot of emotions about the fast approaching day of leaving India...It is hard ... really hard. As we are getting ready to move to the sunny state and warmer part of California, One minute I'll be very excited, can't wait to get there like that, then get started packing but when the next minute keep thinking about surely I'll miss the dear ones and family. My silent prayers went on and on.

The week has come and the moving countdown has begun. We've made the checklist of everything ... busy...exciting...staring days gone. It was a unforgettable day leaving the parents, but for a good cause brother's family (US People :)) was there to send-off us. Well, here is the day to fly. It was my first flying appearance. Enjoyed it.

It was a very long(indeed) flight travel, reached safely at LA Airport. After a long check-out, we smelled the US Air. It was a great day. 7 days of friend's treat...good home made food...amazing friends and family. It was like,The good support at right time. Even though, we loved the family-inn it should be nice to move to a apartment...! The day has come, we moved with our 5 baggages, no no...excitements. Yes. it was! :).

Everyday seems to be, staring. What to DO?! I just started thinking of loved ones, family, dogs....gotcha :).!!!I should make something of puppy...why not with latch hook....! Then started latch hooking,it was fun to do it, and I liked the brown and cream colors of this Puppy. I really loved the eyes, sure it does look cuteHopefully, someday I'll design my own rug and do it.

Speaking of this Puppy project, reminds me Nostalgic memories of the college days...and latch hooked a Big puppy love ;will post that soon.

Eyes - Off Yourself !

And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. 1 Corin 12 : 26

Devotion :

We need each other in this network world. When we are called to step out of our comfort zones, we may not feel good or ready or that we have anything to offer., yet to practice a effective network, just take your eyes off yourself and put others first.

To simply put this point, everyone experiences real good days as well as bad days. When it comes to bad days, how often are we feeling about others/feelings/thoughts/desires? If we walk a mile in their shoes, certainly will be able to know how God is working within us and shaping us

Pencil Touches...! Rooster!!!

I love nature, the wonderful creation of God. The small little drop of dew in the grass, the drizzling of the rain, the sweet smell of the flowers, walking in the wood trails, the beach, the  birds's take off, first bud,...the list goes!!!

Love painting,Pencil drawings are my inspirational touch. I can offer little of my doodle time here. I’m planning to do more as it’s very interesting and challenging for me.

I have many fond memories of growing up on the outskirts of Trichy, we all grand kids were exposed to see numerous cattle like cows, pigs, chickens, and roosters. We enjoyed our child hood spending our vacation time in those places. For our Grandpa, grand children are joy of his life. As of my knowledge, people used to measure their success by their bank account, their possessions, or their social status. Grandpa measured his success by his good values and work ethics. Our family’s treasure, and we all loved each other. He loved those days, and together we’ve made many lasting memories.

We had a lot of roosters, young ROOSTERS will grow up quite good with flock of hens. If there are more than one, when they mature their status , we can see lot of fun going on with them ...they will flap their wings and knock the other!!! I really loved watching them, the roosters are really handsome with their exotic colorful feathers...shiny sometimes. I liked drawing this rooster, the neck part took a while to finish. Hope he looks handsome through my doodle.

Keep Praying

Devote yourselves to prayer keeping, alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving.   Colossians 4 : 2 NASB

Devotion

How effective our prayers are?! We are fortunate to kneel in prayer not more than few minutes in a day. However, expressing silent prayers is good way of communicating with God

It is a joyful experience to unite with the Lord who takes away our burdens. Bringing our concerns and plans and seeking His wisdom in all we do...!

Trust in God

It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. Psalm 118 : 8

Devotion:

It is impossible to meet everyone's needs and we'll surely disappoint some by making them unhappy and insecure.

If something that anyone can do, and anyone feel comforting is making them to remember that God is the safe place of refuge, comfort and help.

Are U Down?

I lift up my eyes to the mountains, where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. Psalm 121 : 1 -2

Devotion :

Everyone is sad and emotionally down sometimes. We will get disappointed for so many things like when we dont get the things we hoped for and when we experience a terrible loss, even it is pretty hard to resume from that, there is only one way to look and that is UP. The LORD is always waiting for us to hear from us through our Prayers.

He always waits for me to come home. Those after hour college days also he will wait.,it was a day like that...! Cherishable Moments to remember. I used to feel really good after the lunch - even a big meal does not give me the happiness today. If I can remember how I felt, it's like ( Athu oru aligiya nilaa kalam)...!

Though mom ususally makes the lunch in mornings,as she has to rush to her work,in the afternoons we both will crave some extras like omelette or fry appalams to accompany our lunch. On that day,mom had made this TOMOTO RICE and we both were ready to eat at the table...then we realised why dont we make something? Even,I just don't had the patience. Luckily, I got something to do(hurray!), so I started the process(!) and ended.I can say, that was the dumpest thing I've done.

Then we had our lunch.During that time, Dad didn’t tell anything, he only has the habit of appreciating with all the kind words. For him it was like a another day,it went well. For me, Just a few of those fries,...may be not a few, ... and I dont feel good - not in my tummy - but, I had the trouble to eat my fries, I just put it aside and finished the lunch. In the evening, As soon as my Mom reached home, I told her,as we are out of Potatos,I just tried to make some fries out of …. Seppankilangu ( Colocasia Yam)… but it turned out a burning problem with my throat :( ...! My mom was cool.,she then explained the toxic crystals in that and how we have to cook that! Dad just smiled and said, itz just a exploration day in cooking :)!!

Memories :

The day started out beautiful, much like everyday, with blue skies and puffy clouds. Even though, the Chennai weather report has broadcasted the chance of rain, there was no reason to believe it. Besides, the report, I have loved the rain since I was a little girl...hope so many agree with me. I love the smell of before it starts, or sometimes it hits the ground. Loooooooooooooved it always. Denny started sleeping in his cradle(thooli), as I was in the kitchen preparing this Aviyal, now and then I heard the loud winds.

What a wind can do? But it does....!!! I looked out through the windows, and it had started raining! I couldn’t believe it, the sudden change in the weather. I turned on the knob for slow cooking and ran to the upstairs to take all the clothes from cloths line. When I made my way to downstairs...I was scared to death. Denny was trapped inside the apartment, since I have not put the chain lock, a strong wind closed the door. No mobile in hand, hated myself, waited for a while for the neighbour to come and called my husband to come as early as possible from work. He came and opened the door, for our surprise’ Denny was still sleeping in the cradle :) but the aviayal ...no comments. What it could be ….roasted?! More than that !!!
